Summary and Thumbnail photograph links

In 1974 the Air Force was the transport 'workhorse' of the whole country in addition to supporting the forces involved in Dhofar.

The photographs below show the aircraft in use during the period, the most modern being the BAC 1-11 (Cargo version and the first produced by BAC) which had its inaugural return flight to UK in March 1975.

The 'Defender' (Islander light aircraft) was instituted in 1975 and is now added as one of 4 photographs provided by courtesy of Peter Justin who worked with Airworks.
